RTS announces Chris Beacham as new Principal

RTS and its Board of Directors announced today that Chris Beacham, Director of Economic Development Programs, has been named principal, joining Trent Williams and Dr. Stuart Rosenfeld in this role. Chris is the fourth principal  in the 20 year history of the organization.

TA3 Conference Theme Announced

The 2009 TA3 Conference will be held May 4-6, 2009 in Tampere, Finland, hosted by Tampere College.  Our proposed conference theme is “New Learning Environments & Cultural Differences.” We’ll discuss the innovative ways that colleges create learning environments that are experiential, reflect real life or work situations, and/or are immediately relevant to a student’s particular interests or background. Speakers will address topics such as entrepreneurial learning through incubators, simulated work situations or enterprises, and learning based on the characteristics of a certain sector or industry cluster.

RTS appoints new board members

We are pleased to announce that RTS has three new members of our Board of Directors. Bill Bishop is a long time newspaper reporter and columnist and now the publisher of the Daily Yonder, a web site concentrating on chronicling rural issues. Hodding Carter III is University Professor of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Previously he served as CEO of the Knight Foundation as well as holding positions in the Carter administration. Karl Stauber is the President and CEO of the Danville Regional Foundation and a past head of the Northwest Area Foundation. You can read more about the Board in our about RTS section.
