Jacques Koppel is a recognized leader in the field of technology-led economic development, providing creative solutions to address public sector strategies. Prior to establishing The Koppel Group, LLC in 2004, Mr. Koppel was CEO of Minnesota Technology, Inc., the state’s quasi-public technology corporation. He transformed this organization into a national leader in such areas as technology extension, seed capital, industry/university technology transfer, and rural development. Previously, Mr. Koppel was Director of Pennsylvania’s Office of Technology Development and Ben Franklin Partnership, managing a $40 million annual state investment. He was responsible for creating the nationally recognized Industrial Resource Center program.
Mr. Koppel possesses extensive experience in working with leaders in the public and private sectors as well as academia. He has chaired the National Governor’s Association Science & Technology Council, as well as serving on the Boards of the National Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing, the State Science & Technology Institute and the Center for the Development of Technological Leadership, University of Minnesota. He has also served on committees for the Council on Competitiveness, the National Science Foundation and National Academy of Sciences.
