With funding supports from the I-29 Corridor Task Force, RTS worked with communities in the I-29 corridor of eastern South Dakota to identify clusters with high growth potential and develop strategies for economic growth. The effort was focused on crafting a regional plan that fused a comprehensive private sector-based economic development strategy based on existing and emerging cluster strengths with a university-based strategy driven by the research enterprise, innovation capacity and talent within the region’s higher education institutions to produce a unified regional growth plan.
